jeremy pettis alphabet zoo

Some interesting interpretations of type as image here. I understand the idea to be that the word is illustrated to poses the visual qualities and characteristics of the animal in question.

some lovely photographs of manatees by chris hannant

Very nicely taken photos of manatees. Really communicate how amazing these creatures are.

manatees are endangered

The website below - of a group called 'Save the Manatee Club' is dedicated to saving the manatee from extinction. As of January 2011, Save the Manatee club says that there was only a 4480 manatee count.

manatee steamboat in the sky

Jack found this for me. A delightful illustration that captures the slow and lazy characteristics of the manatee by turning it into a sluggish steamboat. Why they are in the sky I am not too sure. But it's definitely a good thing.

hadron collider lecture series

4 posters advertising a series of 4 lectures about the experiments of the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland. These present a successful layout with some interesting imagery to accompany the text.

the planets book covers

Some interesting interpretations of the inner planets on these book covers that I found on Behance. The ground that is a closeup of each planet is a very interesting piece of imagery to include.

very cool london billboard

A really good example of a contemporary, well designed billboard in London, which incidentally is simply an advert in order to get people to 'Discover London'.

tube advert that hints on our target audience

This tube advert diverted my attention due to the fact that its content is relevant to the Glayva target audience that we are aiming our marketing at. As the content of the advert targets concert goes, which is something outlined by Chris and I that our audience might do. The fact that it is on the tube suggests that our audience frequent the underground which is a big positive.

evaos contemporary restaurant

A great example of how contemporary design fits into an environment and how fitting design into an environment makes it spatially effective. This is relevant to designing the event that Chris and I are proposing to Glayva to promote it to businesses.

british library chopin exhibition

The design for this exhibition was done by Leicester and London based graphic design company Checkland Kindleysides. The aesthetic of the design fills the exhibition making everything work together. This is essentially what Chris and I want to employ in the promotional Glayva event that we would target business owners with.

contemporary scotch whisky redesigns

In recent times the scotch whisky market has undergone some major redevelopments in its design. This is precisely the kind of angle that Chris and I want to take in marketing Glayva to a broader audience in the UK. Also, it would match the contemporary packaging that Glayva have recently had re-done by Elmwood. Here are some top notch redesigns of scotch single malts:
